Ghent: a historical city filled with students.
No better way to get to know the city than by a tour provided by Ghentian history students! We meet in front of the Sint-Pietersabdij at 19h30 from where our tour will start. We will show you the best spots of Ghent and provide some information about them in an interesting, historical way. Among the best spots is one of our favourite local bars, where you will have the opportunity to drink something. We're estimating that our tour will end around 22h. Free city tour, nice atmosphere and meeting new people. No more information needed to be convinced to come. See you there!

Are you a local student eager to meet internationals studying here? 🌍
Are you an international student curious to find out what these Belgian creatures are really like? 👽🇧🇪 If the answer is yes, this event is for you! Join us at our Locals Meet Internationals event and connect with each other through a "tour de table", aka speedmeet, together with some interesting ice breaker questions! The event starts at 19h30 in Het Gouden Mandeken. See you there! Be sure to let us know whether you're joining by going to our event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/458664797872776/ Meeting point: Ghent Sint Pieters Railway Station, 9h45
Please register on https://goo.gl/forms/W0HPO0bJiK3ogyKp1 Going to Brussels to visit the House of European History and the Parlementarium has always been on our mind. Now that the Parlementarium hosts a special exhibition called "State of Deception: the Power of Nazi Propaganda", it seems like the right moment to go. But there's more! On 5 May, the European Institutions will open their doors for the public. Ever wondered how the European Commission, the European Council or the European Parliament look like inside? Do you want to take a seat in the huge Parliament, debate with some MEP's and vote on some European questions? You can do all of that on 5 May! If it gets too political for you, you can go back outside to enjoy some vibes, because during this weekend the region of Brussels celebrates the "Iris Festival" all around the city. The weather will probably be very good, so the Place du Luxembourg will be turned into a real summer festival scene, with a DJ stage, international food fairs and much more. In short: a full day to celebrate and learn about history, international affairs and the European story. We will meet at Ghent-Sint-Pieters Railway Station at 9h45 to take the train to Brussels, just so those who are interested in the debate about 'fake news' won't miss it. That debate starts at 11h in the European Parliament. Ofcourse you're more than welcome to join us whenever you want, you'll just have to get to Brussels yourself then. Check out more details on https://europa.eu/european-union/about-eu/symbols/europe-day/open-day-brussels_en Hello everyone!

Both locals and international students are more than welcome! You'll get to know more about ISHA and about the other students of our faculty. . We hope to see you all there! We're looking forward to meeting you! The ISHA Ghent team Hungry for more ISHA events? Don't worry, soon we will announce some very exciting activities, stay tuned! :)
Monday October 23rd, we start with one that will actually deal with your hunger. From 11h until 17h you can find us in the entrance hall of the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, more commonly known as "Blandijn". You can buy some delicious food, such as cookies, a slice of apple cake, croque monsieurs, soup or brand new local ISHA Ghent Membership Cards (this last one is very delicious!) for very reasonable prices. Because ISHA cares about the climate, we will use reusable plates. You can use them for free if you give us your student card or any ID as a warranty. You’ll get it back when you bring back the used plate. Breaking a plate will cost you €5,00. If you want to use a disposable plate, you have to pay €0,20, which we shall donate to climate projects. We obviously also accept voluntary donations for the climate. See you on Monday! ISHA Ghent |
